Kosher?

Purity involves cleanliness, and for people to be clean they must consume clean things. A person who lives in dirt and consumes filth will contaminate himself and ruin his health. G-d does not Bless those who curse themselves. Therefore we are Commanded to be clean; lest we contaminate ourselves and the congregation of our Judge. In fact, we should be Pure for Hashem, of body and of heart, that the Spirit of G-d should Dwell amongst us.

People think Israel is merely a religion and the Laws of G-d are merely opinions. The Jewish people have based themselves upon what they eat and Who they pray to; the religious being extremely cautious and praying very often, while the secular are more lenient and pray only when they want to. But this isn't the Purpose of Israel. G-d is not a belief and His Laws are not opinions. You serve your Judge by observing His Laws, and you purify yourself to sanctify your spirit. For if you would walk in the Ways of G-d, then you must elevate yourself to a level of purity--that your body should be worthy of your soul. But if your spirit is corrupt, then as much as you might purify your body--it will never be enough. Which is to say: If Israel does not live according to the Entire Commandment, then what would it matter if the people contaminate themselves with pigs? If G-d is considered a belief and His Laws are treated as opinions, that the government of Israel should judge against the Will of its Judge, the Ruler of Israel, then the Land is already corrupt and no cover-up can hide its contamination. If you truly want to be Pure, then you should sanctify your spirit, and only then can your body be purified--that what is in it should be uncontaminated.

Permission to eat meat and redeemed offerings: "...Beware for yourself lest you bring up your burnt-offerings in any place that you see. Rather, only in the place that Hashem will Choose, among one of your tribes, there shall you bring up your burnt-offerings, and there shall you do all that I Command you. However, in your soul's desire you may slaughter and eat meat, according to the Blessing that Hashem, your G-d, will have Given you in all your cities; the contaminated one and the pure one may it, like the deer and the hart. But you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it onto the earth, like water." (Deuteronomy 12:13-16). You can only offer to Hashem in Jerusalem, but you may slaughter to your heart's desire and eat meat in any place, as long as it's not an offering. Both the contaminated person and the uncontaminated person can eat meat outside of the Temple, but it is Forbidden to consume the blood.

Sacred foods only in Jerusalem: "In your [outlying] cities, you may not eat: the tithe of your grain, and your wine, and your oil; the firstborn of your cattle and your flocks; all your vow offerings that you vow and your free-will offerings; and what you raise up with your hands. Rather you shall eat them before Hashem, your G-d, in the place that Hashem, your G-d, will Choose--you, your son, your daughter, your slave, your maidservant, and the Levite who is in your cities--and you shall rejoice before Hashem, your G-d, in your every undertaking. Beware for yourself lest you forsake the Levite, all your days on your Land." (Deuteronomy 12:17-19).

Blemished consecrated animals: "Every firstborn male that is born in your cattle and in your flock, you shall sanctify to Hashem, your G-d; you shall not work with the firstborn of your ox nor shall you shear the firstborn of your flock. Before Hashem, your G-d, shall you eat it, year by year, in the place that Hashem will Choose, you and your household. If it shall have a blemish--lameness or blindness or any serious blemish--you shall not slaughter it to Hashem, your G-d. In your cities shall you eat it, the contaminated one and the pure one alike, like the deer and the hart. However you shall not eat its blood; you shall pour it onto the ground like water." (Deuteronomy 15:19-23).

Permission to eat unconsecrated meat: "When Hashem, your G-d, Will Broaden your boundary as He Spoke to you, and you say, "I would eat meat," for you will have a desire to eat meat, to your heart's entire desire may you eat meat. If the place where Hashem, your G-d, will Choose to Place His Name will be far from you, you may slaughter from your cattle and your flocks that Hashem has Given you, as I have commanded you, and you may eat in your cities according to your heart's entire desire. Even as the deer and the hart are eaten, so may you eat it, the contaminated one and the pure one may eat it together. Only be strong not to eat the blood--for the blood, it is the life--and you shall not eat the life with the meat. You shall not eat it, in order that it be well with you and your children after you, when you do what is Right in the Eyes of Hashem." (Deuteronomy 12:20-25).

Be Holy: "You shall distinguish between the clean animal and the unclean, and between the clean bird and the unclean; and you shall not render your souls abominable through such animals and birds, and through anything that creeps on the ground, which I Have Set Apart for you to render unclean. You shall be Holy for Me, for I Hashem Am Holy; and I Have Separated you from the peoples to be Mine." (Leviticus 20:25-26).

Be Holy, don't eat torn flesh: "People of Holiness shall you be to Me; you shall not eat flesh of an animal that was torn in the field; to the dog shall you throw it." (Exodus 22:30). "Any person who will eat the flesh of an animal that died or was torn--the native or the proselyte--he shall immerse his garments and immerse himself in the water, and he shall remain contaminated until evening and then become pure. But if he does not immerse [his garments] and does not immerse his flesh, he shall bear his iniquity." (Leviticus 17:15-16). It is Forbidden to eat an animal that died on its own or was torn in the field.

Don't contaminate the Temple: "The flesh that touches any contaminated thing may not be eaten, it shall be burned in fire; but of the [uncontaminated] flesh, any uncontaminated person may eat the flesh. A person who eats flesh from the feast peace-offering that is Hashem's while his contamination is upon him, that soul will be cut off from its people. If a person touches any contamination--whether human contamination or a contaminated animal or any contaminated abomination--and he eats from the flesh of a feast peace-offering that is Hashem's, then that soul will be cut off from its people." (Leviticus 7:19-21).

Don't consume fat or blood: "An Eternal decree for your generations in all your dwelling places; you may not consume any fat or any blood." (Leviticus 3:17). "Hashem Spoke to Moses, Saying: Speak to the children of Israel, saying: Any fat of oxen, sheep, or goats--you shall not eat. The fat of an animal that died and the fat of an animal that had been torn to death may be put to any use; but you shall not eat it. For anyone who eats the fat of animal species from which one may bring a fire-offering to Hashem--the soul that eats will be cut off from its people. You shall not consume any blood, in any of your dwelling places, whether from fowl or from animals. Any person who consumes any blood--that soul will be cut off from its people." (Leviticus 7:22-27). The blood must be spilled on the ground and the fat cut away or burnt in fire.

Don't consume blood: "Any man of the House of Israel and of the proselyte who dwells among them who will consume any blood--I Shall Concentrate My Attention upon the spirit consuming the blood, and I Will Cut it off from its people. For the spirit of the flesh is in the blood and I Have Assigned it for you upon the Altar to provide atonement for your spirits; for it is the blood that atones for the spirit. Therefore I Have Said to the children of Israel: 'Any person among you may not consume blood; and the proselyte who dwells among you may not consume blood.' Any man of the children of Israel and of the proselyte who dwells among them who will trap a beast or bird that may be eaten, he shall pour out its blood and cover it with earth. For the life of any creature--its blood represents its life, so I Say to the children of Israel, 'You shall not consume the blood of any creature; for the life of any creature is its blood, whoever consumes it will be cut off.'" (Leviticus 17:10-14).

Don't cook kid in milk of mother: "You shall not offer the blood of My feast-offering upon leavened bread; nor may the fat of My festive-offering remain overnight until morning. The choicest first fruit of your Land shall you bring to the House of Hashem, your G-d; you shall not cook a kid in the milk of its mother." (Exodus 23:18-19). "You shall not slaughter the blood of My Altar upon leavened bread, nor may the offering of the Pesach festival be left overnight until morning. The first of your Land's early produce you shall bring to the Temple of Hashem, your G-d. Do not cook a kid in the milk of its mother." (Exodus 34:25-26). "You shall not eat any carcass; to the stranger who is in your cities shall you give it that he may eat it, or sell it to a gentile, for you are a Holy people to Hashem, your G-d; you shall not cook a kid in the milk of its mother." (Deuteronomy 14:21).

You can't mix the blood with the death, for the life is in the blood. Nor can you eat the carcass of an animal that has died, for it is contaminated--only when you slaughter it, is it clean and its flesh is healthy. You should be Holy for Hashem, and bring only Purity to His Temple. "You shall not cook a kid in the milk of its mother." For the milk is the sustenance, it provides for the life of the kid; to boil its flesh in the milk, is like eating the meat with its blood; the death with its life. This was done as an idolatrous ritual; in contempt of G-d, and with disdain for the sanctity of life. You should not boil the meat of an animal in the milk of its mother; nor cook or soak it in the milk, that you should eat it with the milk of its mother. This will not be done in homes or restaurants, or in processing factories, nor will it be accepted for import--it is Forbidden in Israel and for the children of Israel. The Law will be extended to any milk product of livestock and their meat, but anything beyond that is an opinion.

Kosher and unkosher animals: "Hashem Spoke to Moses and to Aaron, Saying to them: Speak to the children of Israel, saying: These are the creatures that you may eat from among all the animals that are upon the earth. Everything among the animals that has a split hoof, which is completely separated into double hooves, and that brings up its cud--that one you may eat. But this is what you shall not eat from among those that bring up their cud or that have split hooves: the camel, for it brings up its cud, but its hoof is not split--it is unclean to you; and the hyrax, for it brings up its cud, but its hoof is not split--it is unclean to you; and the hare, for it brings up its cud, but its hoof is not split--it is unclean to you; and the pig, for its hoof is split and its hoof is completely separated, but it does not chew its cud--it is unclean to you. You shall not eat their flesh nor shall you touch their carcass--they are unclean to you." (Leviticus 11:1-8). Nor should pigs be raised in Israel, for it is a waste of grain. Cattle provide milk, meat, and work; chickens provide meat and eggs; sheep provide meat and fleece; pigs provide nothing, and they are Forbidden.

Kosher and unkosher fish: "This may you eat from everything that is in the water; everything that has fins and scales in the water, in the seas, and in the streams; those may you eat. And everything that does not have fins and scales in the seas and in the streams--from all that teems in the water, and from all living creatures in the water--they are an abomination to you. And they shall remain an abomination to you; you shall not eat of their flesh and you shall abominate their carcass. Everything that does not have fins and scales in the water--it is an abomination to you." (Leviticus 11:9-12).

Forbidden birds: "These shall you abominate from among the birds; they may not be eaten--they are an abomination: the nesher, the peres, the ozniah; the daah and the ayah according to its kind; every orev according to its kind; the bat hayaana, the tachmas, the shachaf, and the netz according to its kind; the kos, the shalach, and the yanshuf; the tinshemet, the ka'at, and the racham; the chasida, the anafa according to its kind, the duchifat, and the atalef." (Leviticus 11:13-19). There is argument over the translation, but in general a predatory bird or a scavenger are Forbidden. A common translation denotes these as Forbidden: the eagle, ossifrage, osprey, kite, vulture family, entire raven family, ostrich, falcon, gull, hawk family, little owl, cormorant, owl, swan, pelican, magpie, stork, heron family, hoopoe, and the bat.

Forbidden and permissible insects: "Every flying teeming creature that walks on four legs--it is an abomination to you. Only this may you eat from among all flying teeming creatures that walk on four legs: one that has jumping legs above its legs, with which to spring upon the earth. You may eat these from among them: the arbeh according to its kind, the sal'am according to its kind, the chargol according to its kind, and the chagav according to its kind. Every flying teeming thing that has four legs--it is an abomination to you." (Leviticus 11:20-23). All insects are Forbidden except for certain swarming locusts which are identified as the desert locust, yellow locust, spotted gray locust, and white locust. These are only permitted because of their swarming nature; since they cover the earth and eat all the crops. Either they would contaminate the harvest by their presence, or they would eat everything and cause starvation, in which case they could be eaten as a food source. Yet all insects are an abomination and even these should not be eaten on a normal basis.

Contaminated animals: "You become contaminated through the following--anyone who touches their carcass becomes contaminated until the evening; and anyone who carries their carcass shall immerse his clothing and be contaminated until the evening--every animal that has split hooves that are not completely split, or does not chew its cud, they are contaminated to you; whoever touches them becomes contaminated. And every one that walks on its paws, among all animals that walk on four legs, they are contaminated to you; whoever touches their carcass shall be contaminated until evening. One who carries their carcass shall immerse his clothing and be contaminated until evening; they are contaminated to you." (Leviticus 11:24-28)."

Contaminated creeping animals: "These are the contaminated ones among the teeming animals that teem upon the earth: the weasel, the mouse, the toad according to its kind, the hedgehog, the chameleon, the lizard, the snail, and the mole. These are contaminated to you among all the teeming animals; anyone who touches them when they are dead shall be contaminated until evening; and when they are dead, anything upon which part of them will fall shall become contaminated, whether it is a wooden utensil, a garment, leather, or sackcloth--any utensil with which work is done--shall be brought into the water and remain contaminated until evening, and then become cleansed.

"Any earthenware utensil into whose interior one of them will fall, everything in it shall become contaminated, and you shall break it. Of any edible food, that water had come upon, it shall become contaminated; and any beverage that can be drunk, in any vessel, shall become contaminated. Anything upon which part of their carcass may fall shall be contaminated--an oven or a stove shall be smashed--they are contaminated and they shall remain contaminated to you. Only a spring or a cistern, a gathering of water, shall remain pure--but one who touches their carcass shall become contaminated. And if its carcass will fall upon any edible seed that has been planted, it remains pure. But if water had been placed upon a seed and then their carcass falls upon it, it is contaminated to you." (Leviticus 11:29-38).

Contamination of kosher animals: "If an animal that you may eat has died, one who touches its carcass shall become contaminated until evening. And one who eats from its carcass shall immerse his clothing and remain contaminated until evening; and one who carries its carcass shall immerse his clothing and remain contaminated until evening." (Leviticus 11:39-40). A kosher animal that dies on its own or is torn in the field, is considered unkosher.

No creeping creatures: "Every teeming creature that teems upon the ground--it is an abomination, it shall not be eaten. Everything that creeps on its belly, and everything that walks on four legs, up to those with many legs, among all the teeming things that teem upon the earth, you may not eat them, for they are an abomination. Do not make yourselves abominable by means of any teeming thing; do not contaminate yourselves through them, lest you become contaminated through them." (Leviticus 11:41-43).

Be Holy: "For I Am Hashem your G-d--you are to sanctify yourselves and you shall be Holy, for I Am Holy; and you shall not contaminate yourselves through any teeming thing that creeps on the earth. For I Am Hashem Who Elevates you from the land of egypt to be a Judge for you; you shall be Holy, for I Am Holy. This is the Law of the animal, the bird, every living creature that swarms in the water, and for every creature that teems on the ground; to distinguish between the contaminated and the pure, and between the creature that may be eaten and the creature that may not be eaten." (Leviticus 11:44-47).

Forbidden fruit: "When you shall come to the Land and you shall plant any food tree, you shall treat its fruit as Forbidden; for three years they shall be Forbidden to you; they shall not be eaten. In the fourth year, all its fruit shall be sanctified to laud Hashem. And in the fifth year you may eat its fruit--so that it will increase its crop for you--I Am Hashem, your G-d." (Leviticus 19:23-25). Let the fruit of a young tree nourish itself and spring out new seed, for it doesn't give much fruit in its first years, and so that it will be fruitful in the coming years. And in the fourth year you shall consecrate all the fruit to Hashem, to be eaten in Jerusalem, so that G-d Will Bless you and it will be good for you.

Forbidden mixtures: "You shall observe My Decrees: you shall not mate your animal into another species, you shall not plant your field with mixed seed; and a garment that is a mixture of combined fibers shall not come upon you." (Leviticus 19:19). An animal that is of a mixed species cannot be eaten--and it is a perversion. People achieve enough through selective breeding, that they should have to genetically "enhance" an animal with foreign characteristics. And when you plant a field with mixed seed, the crops either mix or one deprives the other of its proper nourishment--in either case the produce is adulterated and it tastes like starch.
