How will they become independent and a "nation"?

That doesn't answer the question. The real question is, whose interests are best served by having America stay in Iraq? If we come to the conclusion that it isn't even in our own best interest to stay, then it's definitely time to go. The cost, both in human lives and in money versus what is to be gained should be considered. At the rate we're going, we could put in another few years, another half trillion and several thousand more Americans and still be in about the same situation. But at least we wouldn't have admitted that it was a bad idea in the first place. Bush philosophy: don't stop driving at a brick wall just because a democrat tells you it's a bad idea. He's probably just soft on physics.

Leaving al Qaeda in control of Iraq is the cornerstone of the strategy being put forth by the Democrats.

I'm sure you can find dozens of links for yourself, but we can start with Jimmy Webb, who actually said (seriously) that since it's dangerous in Iraq, we should move our troops to Jordan and Kuwait...

Or, Hussein Obama who is ready to cut and run out of Iraq faster than he can say "I never really studied in a Madrassah." (or faster than former Democratic senator Allen can say "My mom's not really Jewish. I love eating pork."

I can not believe that we are still fighting over Iraq. America should have left Iraq alone and finished the job that was started in Afghanistan.  The Amers (back liners) in IDF, could have taken care of Iraq, if it would have gotten out of hand.

Israel can take care of its self if the US hadn't said they would take care of it. IAF, could have taken out all the air bases, then taken out all of the Russian reject missiles.

When you have a country the size of a large metro area in the states that has the best military in the world. Let them use it.

Israel would not have invaded Iraq, especially under current leadership. America can't leave Iraq now because Iran will take over.

I understand that bush destroyed the wrong country, Sodom, wouldn't let Iran start any thing. Even though he was a monster he had too much personal greed to let any thing happen there.

The US could have finish Afghanistan, then taken care of any other problem spots.

Now face it if Israel needed to protect from and non-kosher people they could do it without any problem.
